This was my competition cake at the Virginia cake show. If you want information about the show go to http://cakeshow.org The cake is a topsy turvy cake. The cake had everything I could think of around the tier from all the stuff animals, all hand shaped from gumpaste, to a wall paper boarder at the top edge made by using an image on an icing sheet. I started the base tier to throw questions out there. It had stars and question marks over a 12" tier. The yellow 9" tier is where everything is popping out of the walls. Thinking of course all the presents that the royal family will be receiving for their new baby. That is why I put a wall paper boarder at the top of the tier. The cake should be put on a turn table to appreciate it you will have to turn it around to see everything then you will be able to see the bassinet at the top and find the answer to what the baby sex is. This one is covered in a pink blanket. The questions I put on the cake was He or she what will it be? Pink or Blue? Bats and balls or baby dolls?
