I am in love with this cake! My client wanted a romantic Victorian style topsy turvy Alice in wonderland cake for her daughter’s first birthday. She sent me her invitation which had classic paintings of the story and a blue argyle pattern background and I was instantly inspired. She also sent me a photo of an Alice in wonderland cake by Alma Pateles which had lace and a gold key and watch and wanted those incorporated into the cake as well. I came up with this design and my client cried when she saw the cake. I cried having to leave it behind – I wish it was a dummy cake so I could keep it forever.
