This cake is my take on the very popular ‘back drop cakes’ that are around at the moment. This is one cake, but the partition in the middle makes it two cakes in one! It was a personal cake to make too, as it is for my mum’s boss at her dental practice who retired today! He was my dentist from childhood and it was lovely to be asked by his wife to make this cake for him! She wanted to combine his life as a dentist and his new life playing golf and gardening to be on the cake and she didnt want the word ‘retirement’, so we decided on ‘when one door closes, another one opens!’ All items are handmade and edible – as always
