All sponge cake,

I carved the basque to form the shape from sponge cake and coverd with sugarpaste I then placed this on top of a 12" cake also sponge coverd in sugarpaste.

All the finishing and lace are archived using royal icing, time consuming I know but worth it from the effect it gives.

To give you some idea of the size it is on a 18" cake drum.
