This brief for this cake was “once upon a time” and with that theme i could have taken the cake in any direction but after some more questions i found out that it was a costume party and that Sharon ( the birthday girl) was going as the evil queen. She wanted her cake to represent a fairy tale but not look like it was made for a child. She also wanted the cake to look elegant which i think i achieved and i also gave it a bit of an edgy wicked feel to suit the evil queen. Thanks for looking :-)
The second photo was just for fun and i love any chance i get to practice taking photos haha but i think it gives the cake a real gothic feel. Id love to know what you think :-)
Oh and i wish i had taken my camera to the venue, holly smokes!! Imagine a whole venue that matched the cake.
The tables were covered in black satin, with red and silver table runners. The evil queens ring was used as a napkin ring for the satin napkins. The walls were covered with red apples and green leaves and blacktulle. It was incredible and totally not what I was expecting.
