A customer asked for a double number cake for a 60th birthday and wanted the ‘6’ to represent a Kramer guitar and the ‘0’ to represent a record. Rather than just putting a standard patchwork cutout of a guitar, I decided to make the 6 into a likeness of the guitar and to have a record with the recipients name on it.
Everything on it was completely hand made and 100% edible. I made the strings by piping sugarveil icing and allowing it to dry before painting silver then applying it to the cake. The logo on the head of the guitar was painted freehand and parts of it were so tiny, I could hardly see what I was doing lol
I have since made a similar design but with fondant cutout on a rectangular cake.
