Made this Princess Aurora cake for a little girl Calleigh’s birthday yesterday. Her head and upper body is entirely hand modeled from gumpaste whereas her skirt is fondant iced cake. She comes complete with gold tiara, golden blond hair, gold choker, butterfly fluttering in the palm of her hands and painted roses on her underskirt.

I referred to pics of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty whilst working on her face and hair in order to make her resemble the real character. Uploaded a “work in progress” photo of her on my FB page when she was bald and had comments that she looked a bit like Anne Hathaway and Persis Khambatta (of “Star Trek” fame). Lol!
