This cake was a gift for a special friend who sold most of his personal belongs to go and be a missionary in Africa with his wife. The ‘smile’, was the top tier of marble cake. When I cut into it to fill it, there was a smile inside! :D
I thought about this cake for a long time, even taking the time do to a full scale planning drawing. And for some silly reason, the whole time I worked on this cake, that song, “The Circle of Life,” from “The Lion King”, played in my head!
