This cake was made for a lady on the occasion of her 80th birthday, as a gift from her children and grandchildren. I was told how much she loves her garden, and sent pictures of it as inspiration. The brief was traditional and pretty. The cake is a 2 tier vanilla Madeira, filled with vanilla buttercream and raspberry conserve and covered in fondant. I used a mould to create the lace. The spray of yellow roses on top was handmade.
