Just finished this pink LV purse cake. The cake is lemon with lemon buttercream and raspberry jam, covered in fondant. All decor is hand made and edible. The cake is a gift to a lady who is now vegan, but loved to collect LV purses in her pre-gan days, hence the “loving vegan” tag at the top. The cake board is covered in fondant and the leopard print is hand painted. The LV pattern is all handcut too, and I really underestimated how long that was going to take. Just to do the pattern took about 6 hours total. The “LV” logo is painted on. I used a mold for the zipper and chain on the side (really easy: buy some Amazing Mold putty, a new zipper and a chain and make your own). The cake is also massively huge at 14" long, 4" deep and 9" tall (not including the height of the handles). I padded the front so that it would look more like fabric and less rigid— meaning the ripple in the middle is intentional and not a result of saggy fondant.
Please excuse the yucky background… the cake was so big and delicate that I didn’t want to move it to my light tent and risk a caketastropy!
Thanks for looking!
