I wanted to know how you got the perfect color for metallic red and blue! Im in love with this cake and I am trying to get those two colors exactly like yours!
The red isn’t actually metallic although I must agree with you…it does look that way in the pic. It’s just a very deep red. I believe it was poinsettia petal dust mixed with Everclear. The silver is just regular silver dust mixed with Everclear. I made templets of poster board for the rings and star and scored the shield lightly before painting. After painting it, I scarred it using a pallet knife then painted the nicks and bullet marks in silver. After it was thoroughly dry, I took black petal dust and dusted around the marks to make them look burned. let me know if you have any more questions. :-)
