The story behind this cake is quite interesting. I left Venezuela 15 year ago and now we live in Portugal.
Through social media, one of my old high school friends from Venezuela found my Instagram page and started to follow my work, this friend lives in Madrid.

Now, funny story, her husband is also Portuguese and has family here in Lisbon. They were coming to Portugal for the Christening of their niece and funny enough, the mother of the little girl had already contacted me about the Christening cake.

My friend from Madrid, tells me that she would like to offer the little girl the cake as a present, and when she tells me her name, I said, I already booked that client, not funny enough, my friend from Venezuela, came to Portugal for the Christening and she was staying so close to my own house that we had the chance to reconnect after 27 years!

So, after this long story, I can only say, social media really works, the world is very small and because of all of this I had the chance to make this beautiful hand-painted cake, and some decorated sugar cookies.
