Relief is a sculptural technique where the sculpted elements remain attached to a solid background of the same material.

I have used Bas Relief technique to recreate an image of Buddha under the Bodhi Tree..

The background in blue was painted using royal icing and Buddha and the rest were completely made using homemade modelling chocolate and painted in Edible Gold.
Only a little of fondant was used and the best part about this entire creation was I had only used fondant dresdon tool and my fingers to sculpt..
Days of work,lots of redo.. but was very happy with the final outcome :)
