These two daggers were made as part of a collaboration by a group of South Wales cake artists and was displayed recently at the Welsh National Sugarcraft Exhibition in Cardiff.

For each dagger, a wire and card frame was made, bound with floral tape before covering with modelling paste to give the basic shape. Modelling paste was then used to create the embellished sheaths and handles. The tiny animals were the size of a small coin. The “rock crystal” knob on the end of the one handle was made from isomalt. The daggers were painted with a mixture of edible gold lustre dust and vodka, and the coloured details on the handles added using Rainbow Dust edible metallic paints.
