Love this special commission for an 80th birthday celebration for an avid fisherman! With his many sea fishing adventures off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, we decided on a traditional East Coast fishing boat (peeling paint and all), and a sailfish dream catch (I only found out during the course of this project that our waters off Kuala Rompin are among the world’s best for sailfish fishing!) Also a little swimmer crab as a momento of the many times the family got to enjoy crab after a day’s fishing.
Tried to capture the quiet, tranquility and patience of waiting, virtues of every keen fisherman; and also the impending thrill, excitement and fight when your dream catch has taken the bait.
