Elisabete, thank you, again, for inviting me to participate in this superb collab and for always being so kind and supportive of me.
My cookie design was inspired by a polygon picture online that brought images of stained glass to mind. So, I made a delicious vanilla sugar cookie and flooded it with coffee flavored Royal Icing. Then, I hand-painted the different colored shapes of Salvador Dali’s face before finally outlining those with black Royal Icing. I also added some roses and his signature to the top. After outlining the cookie and adding color, I melted clear Simi Isomalt which I laid ontop of the cookie design and when that filled in the polygon shapes, it gave this stained glass effect. Dali’s mustache and eyebrows were piped ontop of the Isomalt once it was cooled. Finally, I sprinkled some edible powder ontop to make it look old and dirty with final touches of the brush on the undecorated parts of the cookie.
