This cake was made for 5 year old Dante who is obsessed with the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority which runs all of the public transportation—trains, buses, subway, etc.—in and around Boston. He is particularly fond of the commuter trains so I made him this cake. The topper is a model of the commuter train and the cake is wrapped in edible images of the commuter train map. Each map is separated by train tracks (made in fondant) (sadly, I couldn’t get those to show up very well in the photos). For the record, Dante was very excited (and very cute) when he saw his cake!
