BLACK SPENDOUR – CELEBRATION OF LIGHTS CAKE
Bottom tier – Quilling technique used to represent the Diwali decorations used in homes.
Middle tier – Edible gold lace represents the brocade sarees worn by ladies on Diwali. The middle Rangoli design is typical of the Rangoli done on Diwali. The jasmine garlands with red flowers are hung on the doorways of homes during Diwali.
Top tier – Mosaic work done with the Diwali lamp motifs randomly placed in between.
Topper – Isomalt abstract design done with led light kept inside to represent flames of the fire lit during poojas during the festival.
Colours used are predominantly red and yellow to bring out the festive look added with the fiery tones in the celebration of lights during Diwali.
Green and white play a neutralizing effect with the black adding a dramatic background to the whole picture.
