Happy birthday to my vegan daughter 💗. This was my first double barrel cake, and vegan too. Four stacked vegan chocolate cakes with chocolate almond ganache between the tiers and dark chocolate ganache under a thin layer of teal coloured vegan fondant. Then covered with very thin slices of pears that I candied, coloured and dehydrated before painting the edges with edible gold dust.

Note that I didn’t like their cake recipe, only the ganache recipe – I made it with almond paste and Lindt 70% dessert chocolate (yum!) also the nut-free ganache to cover the cake which worked really well (but I used 1 1/2 cups instead of 2/3rd cup of chocolate).
