Great Niece Laura’s college graduation with a Dr. Seuss topper “Oh The Places You’ll Go!” Gumpaste books and Ivy Leaves. I am so annoyed that the lettering is off center. I dropped the letter L and couldn’t move it because it left colored petal dust on the fondant. So had to follow through with the remaining letters.

Lovely … and I personally like the off centered lettering. It adds movement which goes with the theme … the places you’ll go :)

Thank you friends. I will have to tell everyone I placed the letters that way on purpose! :)

This is a fabulous cake, Shirley! What a brilliant design for a gradulation cake, so original! If it happens again, you can use a Q-tip moistened with alcohol or clear extract to “erase” the color from the fondant. If it is a lot, you may have to dab it a few times and even get a clean Q-tip, but it will come perfectly clean. I do it all the time with my models.

Thank you Asya and Sandra. Sandra I wish I had used that trick, I was just disappointed and never thought of that.

Thank you Felis.

Shirley, it really looks great but we can all, understand your feelings. I think we have all been there. I use the trick Sandra mentioned. Had to use it this weekend. Broke a black football player that I placed on white fondant. Had to replace it with a back up but it was a different pose. You can imagine the mess but a little vodka and problem solved.
Thanks Goreti. I think part of the problem was the letters are so fragile and I was afraid of breaking one if I moved them. I had not made backups either.
