This cake is loosely based on a design sent to me by my customer. She definitely wanted the 2-tier design to incorporate an ‘Ark Topper’ but left the cake design to me.

We agreed on pastel shades for the cake but the final design was left as a surprise.

The ‘Ark’ took longer than anticiapted; I made the base from a polystyrene half sphere and built the animals from saracino modelling paste. The animals were atrached to the ark using cocktail sticks and melted white chocolate.

The overall design was very effective and the customer was delighted, especially with the handmade topper.
