The cake is my canvas. With impasto technique using palette knives, I was able to give it texture. After freezing the cake for 20 minutes for the buttercream to set, I brushed touches of gold and brown paint to give it a patina effect. This is so much fun to do and I would like to do more of this on larger cakes.
