Vintage themed bird cage cake.
The bird cage was three tiers of choc cherry ripe mud, the middle tier was a caramel bailieys mud cake and the bottom was a traditional rich fruit cake. The large roses were made from premium gum paste along with the hydrangeas and tiny rose buds. The birdcage and bottom cakes were iced with ivory fondant, the middle cake with champagne fondant, shimmered and stencilled with royal icing.
I had to deliver this cake to a tiny country town 3 hours away, which was such a stressful drive, but a lovely scenic drive home.

This cake is absolutely beautiful. If you don’t mind me asking, how did you do the design on the second tier. I want to try & make this cake but I want to use butter cream instead of fondant & not sure how to have that stunning design on the second tier. That cake is a showpiece. Thanks for your advise.
What a stunning cake!
