My Piece is a Shoe based on Neithhotep who is the first known ancient Egyptian Queen, wife to King Narmer. Her name means “Neith is satisfied”. She was the goddess of war, future queens would have Neith as part of their names.

It has been speculated that Neithhotep had been acting as a ruler on behalf of her son Aha. Meaning that King Narmer died before her, and before Aha was old enough to rule.

I decided to do my Shoe in gold, blue and red to represent the colours shown in my inspiration photo with a snake on the back of the shoe displayed on Neithhotep’s headdress.
