Rajasthani Wedding Cake

Rajasthani Wedding Cake
Rajasthani Wedding Cake

This was my entry to the GSARN Artistic Excellence Web contest for Incredible India Collaboration. Though I was not in top 10 , very proud of my pieace.

The vibrant state of Rajasthan has a huge amount of talent and skilful artists. Be it jewellery, painting, furniture, leather ware, pottery, metal craft or hand- painted textiles of rajas than, each object has a subtle and overpowering appeal. Though I visited once to Rajasthan, I was totally mesmerised by the wide variety of craftsmanship. Have tired my best to capture the art and craft in my cake. The elephant topper is inspired by the Marble Handicrafts of Rajasthan. The top tier shows the decorative hangings made from Lac followed by the marble and stone carving art. The second last tier is inspired by the interiors of Sheeh Mahal also called as Mirror Palace which is part of Amer Fort, Jaipur. The bottom tier is inspired by Blue pottery of Jaipur.
