This is the cake I made for the 50 Cakes of Grey Collaboration with the Around the World in Sugar group! My cake is a 3 tier cake featuring different textures on each tier and a cascade of black sugar peonies, roses, eucalyptus, and leaves.
I had been super crushing on black cakes, as well as the cakes of Jasmine Rae Cakes and Tortik Annuchka. I played with texture in this cake, and let the lighting for my picture setup provide all the shades of gray.
