I was asked to make a cake for a small family who were having a weekend “get together” in the Peak District. They were looking forward to going out for a long walk one day through the woods, although they didn’t know whether there were any woods in the area they were staying, but that was their dream!

So I put together this cake to give them a flavour of what they hoped to experience.

It’s a 6 inch round heavy fruit cake covered with marzipan and then hand modelled with fondant.
