My piece is named VIVAAH as it is inspired by nuances and rituals of an Indian wedding which are otherwise overlooked and were observed in the time of royalty . An era when weddings were grandiose yet simple.
Gifting a Bridal trousseau was a major part of any wedding and the trousseau was delivered in elaborately decorated “trunks” – which i have tried to recreate in the hand painted bottom tier of my piece -these were filled with jewellery and exquisite fabrics for the bride. The second tier represents rich double toned tissue fabric with embroidered motiģ44fs , and drapes of pearl encrusted fabric.
No wedding venue could be considered complete without beautifully embroidered cushions for the guests to relax against .
And ofcourse a Royal Indian wedding would be incomplete without an Elephant and tons of Marigold flowers used to decorate the venue.
The Lotus is the topper of my piece as it is considered to be a sign of divine beauty , purity , prosperity and fertility.
Hope you all enjoy my piece .
It was indeed a pleasure being part of this incredible collaboration.
