Centaur in Shining Armour
My finished piece using Innovative Sugarworks Sugar Structure Running Four Legged Kit!
I had the idea using this structure to try something a little different other than the usual four legged animals prancing around, so I thought, why not make a centaur? Even better, make a masculine version? Haha!
A few tools are required to get the structure up and running, once that’s done, I carved and ganached (yes that’s an actual verb in my vocabulary!) the cake that’s on the structure which makes part of the “horse” part of the centaur. The “human” was created with HotHands modelling chocolate, then using the Sugar Shapers to carve out his chiselled body. The body of the centaur which was cake was covered in Renshaw fondant mixed with Hot Hands modelling chocolate. The facial details like the eyes, hair, and the bows were painted using Edible Art Paint, and was finally airbrushed to give it a tan and bronzed appearance.
