We are proud to present our second installment of Sweet Fairy Tales! This year the sugar artists were tasked with re-creating a Fairy Tale or story that you might have heard and put their own twist on it!

All proceeds go directly to http://child-aid.org, a wonderful non-profit organization that trains hundreds of teachers and librarians in Guatemala, delivers books to neglected schools and libraries, and brings reading programs to children in 68 communities.

My Piece was inspired by the Snow White story but in my version, the story doesn’t end well. At least not for the princess…
“Little Bianca was always a beautiful girl and people always make sure they told her that. Her parents used to say to her: “You are the most beautiful girl in the world, and you’ll be happy ever after with a beautiful and strong prince. But you have to make sure you are always humble and sweet.
Bianca grew up, in deed to became the most beautiful woman of the world. Unfortunately, she spent most of her time looking herself in the mirror and repeating to herself “I’m the fairest of them all, I’m the fairest of them all”.
One day, her stepmother, revealed her true self by showing Bianca that she was a witch, a conscience witch, with magical powers. The stepmother warned her that she needed to remember her parents’ words: “…But you have to make sure you are always humble and sweet.”
Bianca completely ignored the witch and continued to look herself in the mirror. The witch brought her water as Bianca asked, and said goodbye. Bianca continued to ignore her and only had eyes for herself in the mirror.
Suddenly, she found out something strange in the mirror… Her eyes… Her eyes were turning silver as the mirror… Then her skin started to have a silverish tone…
Bianca started to panic and suddenly looked at the glass of water and remembered what the witch told her: “…But you have to make sure you are always humble and sweet.”
Bianca started to cry but it was too late, her tears were like tiny crystals made of mirror glass.
Then Bianca looked in the mirror but there was no reflection… She finally realized: “I looked so much to the mirror, that I’m inside the mirror now… I’m Bianca, the Magic Mirror”.”
