Every part of this baby shower cake was so much fun to make!! The mom to be (who was one of my brides!) had a “royal baby” theme, and loved the crown on a pillow design, so I wanted to respect the concept while still putting my own spin on it (and obviously including sugar flowers!). I had never done anything remotely “gravity” related, so it was particularly fun! The bird is free form sculpted, and the crown was a combination of free form for the base and mouldings for the flourishes. Both are made with modelling paste. The flowers are made with flower paste.
