this was a piece I made for my first cake show “that takes the cake”, The theme was cake and old lace, in the description it talked about showcasing the Victorian period as it moved into the industrial revolution and the introduction of steam power. My thought was to combine the two mixed with a futuristic style known as steam punk. My piece tells a story about a preteen girl who gets a new mechanical arm thanks to the newfound technology and now she’s whole again because of her arm and the fact that she can hold and love on her new little turtle friend, who has also been made whole again thanks to a mechanical shell repair! She won me first place in my division, adult advanced sculpted, and second place in overall show theme!
