This bride wanted a cake design to fit her Gatsby and Art Deco inspired wedding. She requested square tiers, but I pitched the idea of hexagons to add additional panels and views to the design. She loved it, so I got started on a geometric cake design using her wedding color pallet. Each of these shapes were hand cut – yikes! ;) I started at the bottom and was averaging about an hour per panel. At 12 panels, that’s…. :O It did pick up as I got going of course, but let’s just say it was a late night at the kitchen :) Always worth it for the client’s reaction! Check out that last picture of their faces as they’re savoring their first slice of wedding cake – priceless!
