This cake was made for a bride who was from Indonesia. Red Orchids are her mother’s favorite flower and are gumpaste. The middle tier was designed to represent the batik fabric that is used frequently in Indonesia and was used on the bride’s serving tables and gown. The cathedral borders were used because they were ornate like the bride’s veil in Indonesia.
