This Gingerbread house won first place at the National Gingerbread House Competition in Asheville, North Carolina.

Dream house was inspired by the magical architectural designs of Daniel Merriam (High Altitude, Land’s End, Port of Call)

It has a total of 317 hand cut gingerbread pieces, 131 of which are custom drawn templates.

The structure is supported by internal gingerbread beams and joists and all interior walls are painted with royal icing to guard against moisture.

The doors and windows are made of painted wafer paper and all architectural details are a combination of gum paste (decorative crown/trim moulding) and royal icing (railings, string work, garden table lace work, beading, garden plants and flowers)
