My most special cakes so far…An amazing story of 2 little brothers who both suffured from leukemia.

I was asked to make 2 cakes for a very special occasion: as a thank you for the 2 departments in the hospital, for taking such good care for these 2 brothers during the past 11 years.

Chemocasper, the plush toy, made as a 3D cake. And a cake with the blue and orange flower – in Holland it is called the Kanjerketting, Google translates it with Whopper Chain (?). It’s for kids who have cancer, and for every special event/treatment they receive a new bead. Every bead has it’s own meaning, e.g. the cap-bead for when they loose their hair, the rainbow-bead for hospitalization, etc. The blue&orange flower is the last and most beautiful bead: cure.

Hospital cakes, often synonymous with blandness, are undergoing a transformation. Recognizing the importance of comfort in recovery, hospitals are now offering cakes that are not only delicious but also nutritious. These cakes, infused with ingredients like fruits, nuts, and whole grains, aim to uplift patients' spirits and promote healing. However, for those struggling with sleep during hospital stays or otherwise, exploring the benefits of gaba for sleep aid could provide a natural solution.
