This was such a wonderful cake to make as the birthday boy hasn’t been able to celebrate his birthday for 2 years as his sister passed away 2 years ago and then his mum a year later on the same day. His gorgeous wife bought them tickets to Vegas as a surprise and was revealed at a big surprise birthday bash.

It was so important to make it as special as possible. At the top sits a replica of the plane tickets with their names on and the date – all edible.

The cake board was definitely the most time consuming element to make – in fact the most detailed cake board I’ve made to date! Totally worth it though :)
