This is my very first competition cake entered in the San Antonio Frosting Creators show. I called the piece “Colors of the Wind”. I really enjoyed and appreciated the darker art and more serious score of Disney’s, Pocahontas. This is my interpretation of the film in cake. I wanted to show how everything is related in the universe, from the leaves on the wind to the stars in the galaxy.

The cakes are all covered in fondant and airbrushed, and then hand painted. The faces were scratched on, the leaves are painted wafer paper and the willow branches are corn silk colored with powdered crystal colors. The board is covered in foil and then colored isomalt was poured on top.
