Sweet Fairy Tales ~As I was going to St.Ives~
“Sweet Fairy Tales” Collaboration
I am Soooo Happy to have completed my collaboration piece!!! I think this piece may be my favorite one that I’ve made thus far!!! SO MANY CATS!!! Now, I hate Cats (JUST KIDDING!!! LOL!!! JUST KIDDING, I LOVE CATS!!!) Thank you for providing me with the inspiration of the St. IVES story.
Here is the Original – it is a Nursery Rhyme:
As I was going to St. Ives,
I met a man with seven wives,
Each wife had seven sacks,
Each sack had seven cats,
Each cat had seven kits:
Kits, cats, sacks, and wives,
How many were there going to St. Ives?
here is a calculation of those numbers above that I found:
If everyone was going in the same direction the answer would be 2,801: 7 wives, 49 sacks, 343 cats, and 2,401 kittens equal 2,800…..
I couldn’t make 343 cats & 2401 Kittens, etc (!!!!)…. so I settled for making 50 Cats & Kittens, 7 Girls /Wives, 7 Mice and 1 Boy / Man…. I hope that’s Enough???
