This was my entry for this year’s Irish cake competition hosted by Dublin Sugarcraft Guild. I entered the category ‘Fire and Water’ and am delighted to say I won a gold and best in class. Quite an unusual piece for me but I suppose that’s what competitions are all about, stretching yourself that little bit more. It’s all cake, no styrofoam allowed for this category. I wanted to involve a few techniques, carving, painting and quilling. Hope you enjoy it.
