Practice Cake 11
I have to say this is the most nerve wracking cake I have made to date. That is because It is the first cake I haven’t delivered myself and I have literally spent all day having Kittens. My first customer pick up cake literally went 200+ miles……….& it made it in one piece. Woo hooo :D This was obviously due to Lisa’s careful driving.
This was a moist triple layer chocolate sponge, with chocolate fudge buttercream. I obviously had to taste the cut offs, yummy.
I was originally asked to do a cake with 40 cats!!! I’m so glad we agreed on this design. 6 cats was plenty! The stable on top is carved from polystyrene and the cats on the roof and horse were meant to look similar to the birthday girls own animals. I made that in advance so it had a chance to fully dry and Kelley would be able to keep it if she chose. I’m pleased with how the cake turned out and hopefully Kelley has had a super birthday.
