It started off as a birthday cake for a grandmother turning 78, who had never had a home-baked customised cake for her birthday. Her favourite colours are mustard and brown, which made me think of a painting by Rothko. And she loves to knit, which led to an abstracted cable-knit design in chocolate.
The cake is decorated with coloured ganache, gold lustred chocolate pattern and a wafer paper flower.
