This cake was for an 85th birthday of a grandfather, so my concept was of a strong old tree, the extended family radiating from the central core. A little abstract, but suited to the dignity of the occasion.
The chocolate cake topper with monogram and birthday message was travelling separately, and I was so engrossed in packing it well, that I forgot to shoot it with the cake :-P
