It’s love, love that makes the world go round !
So when I had to design a cake based on the theme of “Love”, I thought what better way to depict love than my own love story ?!
Me n my Hubby…coming from two vastly different cultures, predictions were that our love & marriage would be doomed. But here we are… 24 years of wedded bliss & still going strong. Love for me means that one sudden look across a room , the skipping of the heartbeat when you see him in a crowd, the look in his eyes which only you can understand ….. that to me is classic endless love .
And thsts what I have tried to bring through in my cake.
I have decorated the liwer tier in a Vintage Hat Box style , creating panels using varied techniques like stencilling, ues of moulds and inlays, edible lace, hand painting etc to give a vintage fabric effect, the vertical gold stripes on the alternating panels have been kept slightly rough n with uneven strokes to create a raw silk effect. I have incorporated ruffles on the rim of the lid.
The top tier is a Bird Cage … something I have been wanting to do for a long time. Here I am depicting the “Love” them by using edible sugar prints of photos from my own personal albums from the time we took our wedding vows till date :) & using red roses n a rotating stand to depict that love does make my world go round :) :)
