Special birthday cake for a huge David Bowie fan devastated by his recent sad and tragic passing. The birthday girl also happens to be my best friend. She sobbed when she saw the cake, so much so all her makeup ran off her face! She explained the tears were because the cake was beyond her expectations and could not bring herself to cut it. So I spent the next hour carefully prizing off sugar flowers and the Bowie pic to recreate it on a cake board for her to keep. A very special and touching experience for me to see my childhood best friend so overwhelmed and happy from something I made for her.

The cake itself is vegan, gluten free and sugar free chocolate sponge with vegan coconut chocolate cream and organic ginger.
