This cake was very special for me, as I made it for the daughter of a cake pop-making friend who unexpectedly passed away last May. It was for a bat mitzvah celebration, and I really wanted to try to help the family have a fun (yet bittersweet) celebration of life after going through such a tough loss. The party had a snowflake theme, and the cake was inspired by a design my friend had sent me only 2 weeks before she died, which was the last time we spoke. The colors were light blue, silver and white to match everything at the party, with many snowflakes. (The snowflakes were much more of a pain than anticipated). This cake definitely was from the heart.
