Van Gogh’s Starry Night – the Extended Remix version cake.
“Extended Remix” because the original painting does not fit the proportions of the cake, so there’s an extra swirly addition, as well as a few extra stars thrown in because, well…why not? :-)

Chocolate truffle cake with dark chocolate ganache and brandied australian cherries inside.
Painted with palette knife using colored chocolate. Fine details added with edible colors and paintbrush.
7" cake, 7.5" tall.

Natural light had failed by the time I finished the cake, so the shots are under artificial light. Not the best, considering the amount of time I spent mixing each color as true to the original.
The images are sequential, rotating left to right, ending at the back with the added swirls. :-)
