A long time ago in a kitchen far far away……. 40 rebel bakers joined forces to bring together sugar art like no other.

Here we present to you Star Wars, The Bakers Strike Back!
A collaboration to celebrate the release of Star Wars, episode VII, The Force Awakens!

I was privileged to be asked to be part of the star wars cake collaboration, ‘the bakers strike back’ and even more thrilled when I found out id been given Yoda as my character. I knew then I had to make him with a light up lightsaber. I had so much fun creating him, especially the sculpting as he was all wrinkly. I love rubbing coloured washes into texture and wiping back to reveal fantastic effects and this worked great on this piece. Even his hair is made from Candy Floss

He was so fun to create…do you know how much fun you can have not worrying about cracks or how smooth something is? . . . lots! :) I love being able to use washes in the background and wiping away the surface, its so effective!
