We are a coalition of 174 sugar artists of the United Nations of Sugar Art who have come together to support The Global Fund in its fight against HIV, TB, and Malaria. We are so close to stopping the transmission of HIV from mother to child that we may actually have a Generation born without HIV!! But we are not there yet. Over 600 children are born EVERYDAY with HIV. Please support us by sharing our page and donating to The Global Fund. To find several ways that you can make a difference please read the pinned post and view our Digital ART Gallery.

Below are the links for the different ways you can support and donate to this cause. Your donation can help mothers with HIV get the medication they need and reduce the chances of transmitting the virus to their babies by 97%. I don’t have much reach in the cake world but to my friends and families who are seeing this and who would like to donate, I have the links below:

My contribution piece is inspired by the “No child born with HIV” campaign and the aim for an “AIDS Free Generation”. I went through a lot of pictures for inspiration, specifically baby pictures and mother-child pictures. The picture of a baby in a hanging sling specifically caught my eye. I have made the sling around the baby in red to represent the Red Ribbon, which is the universal symbol of awareness, support and hope for those living with HIV. The red sling also is a symbol of protection – protecting the baby from this virus. The baby in the sling symbolizes the hope for a future generation free of HIV.I have added some more red ribbons hanging and pinned to the tree as a tribute to all the other babies born with HIV because of less awareness or did not have the means to get the medication needed.
