This is my very first collaboration piece! I teamed up with a group called “Team Red” to help bring awareness to World Aids Day and how many children are still born with HIV today. Our goal is to have no more children born with HIV! I’m so honored to be a part of such a powerful cause.

174 sugar and cake artists have come together to support The Global Fund in its fight against HIV, TB, and Malaria. We are so close to stopping the transmission of HIV from mother to child that we may actually have a Generation born without HIV!! But we are not there yet. Over 600 children are born EVERYDAY with HIV.

My piece represents the pain of having a child born with HIV. The reflection in the eye is of a pregnant woman with HIV. the blood tears represent all of the heartbreak and pain that comes with having and losing a child born with HIV.
